Designing dense interfaces people can actually read

Density comes from spacing discipline, not small text. We keep body type at 14px minimum and buy space back from padding, borders, and repeated labels.

One hairline instead of a card shadow. One alignment grid across the table and the filter bar. Numeric columns right-aligned in a tabular font.

The result reads faster in user testing than the airier version it replaced, at the same font size.
